Sadie launched her TV career presenting children’s programs – including Beezwacks for Hong Kong’s TVB Pearl network, Breakfast Club Live for Disney Channel in Paris, & Eat Your Words for GMTV on ITV1 in London. She progressed to co-presenting RTHK Metro Radio station’s Breakfast Show, assuming various roving reporter roles on MTV & co-presenting Pump TV with Sacha Baron Cohen.
Sadie devised, wrote & presented multi-media drama series Dinner Party TV for Channel4.com. The production earned her a UK Broadcast Award for innovation & the coveted E-Rose for her performance at the International Rose D’Or Television Festival.
Sadie’s eccentric approach to tackling serious social issues was illustrated in her Hug A Hoodie quest to ‘Fix Broken Britain’, broadcast on Sky News. She was subsequently profiled on primetime Channel 4 series The New Entrepreneurs, before hosting another documentary series for Channel 4 reviewing the impact of Iain Duncan Smith‘s Centre For Social Justice & joining the presenting team for ITV Fixers.
In her acclaimed debut feature documentary, Sailing Miss Sadie, which screen premiered at the Gate Cinema in 2010, Sadie mentors three persistent young offenders, re-igniting their passion for living sailing a 60 ft yacht to Venezuela. After visiting inmates inside anarchic El Rodeo Jail, they coerce violent teenage street gangs in the slums of Caracas to disarm. The film’s TV premiere on Sky Real Lives & the Community Channel (UK) preceded worldwide distribution on the Discovery Channel.
Sadie’s documentary Tucker’s Luck, charting the global adventures of a teenage horse whisperer, TV premiered April 2011 & is currently showing on Sky/ H&C, crowned Best Specialist Channel at the 2011 Broadcast Awards. In 2008 Sadie presented Wild Horses, the inspirational story of ten disadvantaged teenagers who tame wild horses while riding them across France to London to raise money for disabled charities. The film was screened at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival & showcased on France 3.
As the face of a Channel 4 campaign to get more people volunteering, Sadie appeared on its flagship philanthropy series The Secret Millionaire. She has more intriguing documentaries in pre-production for 2012, including The Men Who Speak To Zebra for Animal Planet and The Good, The Bad & The Badlands for Sky/ H&C. Sadie will also be documented competing in the Patrouille des Glaciers by Diverse Television for the BBC & present Trailerville & Prince Charlie’s Angels for Greenhouse Films.
