RIP Reuben M Tuck – Bipolar Express Runs Out of Track

I can’t believe I’m writing this… RIP Reuben M Tuck. Truly one of the funniest, whip smart, joyous, down to earth (while never quite of this earth) and loveliest people on the planet. The undisputed star of my 2015 Bipolar Express doc and someone I had known since I was 18 (and he led me astray – or it might have been the other way round). He died peacefully at home in Thailand but was only 58. Absolutely heartbroken for his adored wife Normandy and his family. FU 2020! RIP Reub ❤️

You can hear Reuben talking about his bipolar in the doc with his trademark charisma, candor, humor, passion and wisdom here: https://www.rthk.hk/radio/radio3/programme/bipolar_expressHe was an absolute gift of a guest and it was down to him that the doc did so well, picking up an award from RTHK in 2016 & being Highly Commended by the Association for International Broadcasting in 2015.

In other sad news, I heard a few weeks ago that Mike Rawbone, Chairman and founder of disabled sailing charity Sailability HK died suddenly. Mike was a force of nature and I had planned to make a doc film Sailability Miss Sadie (Mike’s suggestion for a title!) about his charity’s work for RTHK. Unfortunately, the project was delayed first by the protests, then COVID. I am still hoping to make a doc in his memory raising funds for Sailability HK in the future. Love and condolences to Kay.
