The Apostrophe – PASSION
As a dedicated follower of passion, it’s my delight to reveal Issue 10 of The Apostrophe on the theme of ‘Passion‘ just dropped on Substack! Each quarter, five stories are chosen by editor Jan Lee and co-editors Sam Powney and Jay Oatway. I match each story or poem with a piece of artwork as art editor. Issue 10 features a sublime cover by Ilos Ilyas Kirkan and arresting artwork by Anthony Roussell, Carl Scharwath, Susan Pollet, Tiziana Rasile, Jade Bryant and Ricky Sadiosa. The next issue drops New Year’s Day and is on the theme of ‘Flex’. Start flexing those creative muscles!
So, there’s a funny story behind my wee contribution of a photograph (funny weird) matched to the story Knife Box by Gregor Windstill in the Passion issue of The Apostrophe, titled ‘Have You Checked The Minibar?‘. A year or so ago I checked into an Air B&B, unpacked and could only find one shoe. I was as certain as a person with ADHD can be that I had packed two shoes. Prince Charming asked ‘Have you checked the minibar?’ Ten minutes later, I found a pint of milk in the shoe rack.
